State police are investigating a case of sexual assault that was reported Sunday afternoon. Troopers were dispatched to a home along Susan Drive in Burrell Township at 3:15 in the afternoon for a report of a rape. Police discovered that a 17-year-old girl from Blairsville was allegedly raped by a 19-year-old man. Charges have not been filed. The identity of the victim has not been released.
State troopers have released more details on a vehicle accident on December 10th in Armstrong Township. At 8:44 that night, Tsonte Gvasalia of Cleveland was driving his car on Route 422 when he started to fall asleep at the wheel. The vehicle crossed the center line, and when he tried to get back into his lane, he overcompensated and hit a concrete bridge barrier. The car required towing. The driver was not hurt.
