State police released more information on a crash in Derry Township over the weekend that killed one person and injured two others.
Troopers say the crash happened at 4:33 PM on December 29th at the intersection of Industrial Boulevard and Route 217. A Jeep Liberty driven by 30-year-old Katelyn Delfenthal of Flemington in Clinton County was going East on Industrial Boulevard when she allegedly failed to yield to a stop sign at the intersection. She collided nearly head-on with the oncoming car driven by 64-year-old Sharon Finnerty-White of Derry. David Leonard was a passenger in the car with Finnerty-White and was pronounced dead at Latrobe Hospital. Police say Leonard and Finnerty-White were not wearing seatbelts at the time. After the initial impact, Delfenthal’s jeep sideswiped a car driven by Joseph Wells of Ligonier.
Finnerty-White suffered suspected serious injuries in the crash, while Delfenthal suffered minor injuries. Charges have not been filed in connection with the crash.
