Earlier today (on Friday) the Indiana County Commissioners approved a modified version of the budget that was put up for advertisement on December 8th.
This version of the budget has $50,554,364 in expenditures and revenue at $50,682,785. Property taxes will go up to 5.705 mils, representing an increase of eight-tenths of a mil, which was a slight reduction from the preliminary budget approved on the 8th. Commissioners Chairman Mike Keith said that even though the 2024 budget is complete, the job is not done.
Former Commissioner and current Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts Randy Degenkolb commented on the budget, saying that he appreciated the hard work the Commissioners put in the budget.
.89 mils of the property taxes will go to debt service with the rest going to the county’s general operating fund.
