Several preliminary hearings are scheduled for today, and while many of them are for drug-related charges, one is for a man charged with trying to elude police earlier this month.
State police from the Kiski Valley Barracks charged 29-year-old Tyler Klapchar with fleeing or attempting to elude police, resisting arrest, driving on a suspended license and three summary charges connected with an incident on December 18th.
This came less than a month after state police from the Kiski Barracks found him passed out behind the wheel of his car at the intersection of Route 981 and Route 22 in Derry Township. After he woke up, he admitted to police that he had been using heroin.
His preliminary hearing will be held at 11:00 today in front of District Judge Robert Bell Sr.
