Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate went unchanged over the month of November.
The state Department of Labor and Industry says that the rate remained at 3.4 percent for the month, staying at record-low levels. The US unemployment rate went down two-tenths of a percentage point from October to 3.7 percent.
Pennsylvania’s civilian labor force, which is the estimated number of residents working or looking for work, was up 17,000 over the month due to gains in both resident employment and unemployment. The total number of non-farm jobs in the state were up 10,900 over the month to a record high of 6,178,700. Jobs increased in five of the 11 industry super sectors, with the largest gain in education and health services, which went up 9800 jobs.
