A longtime Indiana Borough tax collector and former director of the ICCAP board of Directors has passed away.
David Watkins died yesterday at the Beacon Ridge Nursing Home. A stellar athlete in his high school and college years, he served his country for six years in the armed forces after graduating from IUP. He was employed by the YMCA for seven years after his deployment, and was most proud of starting the competitive swim program at the Y. He is remembered by many as the tax collector for Indiana Borough, a position that he served for 36 years. He also served his community at the President and as Treasurer on the ICCAP board of directors.
Visitation and funeral details will be announced within the next seven days. Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home is assisting the family.
