Negotiations continued yesterday between the state system of higher education and the union representing its faculty.
No new agreement was reached on a faculty contract between PASSHE and APSCUF, but negotiation teams discussed salaries and benefits. Further negotiation dates have not been scheduled at this time. Faculty will continue to work under the terms of the previous agreement, which expired on June 30th of this year. Negotiators have not set a date by which they expect contract talks to end.
Meanwhile, talks are scheduled to continue on January 11th and 12th between PASSHE and APSCUF on the coaches’ contract. Negotiations have been heated over the issue of job security, as the union wants language in the new agreement to prevent coaches being fired on a whim.
