Mason Rudolph says his years of experience and the support of his teammates will help him prepare for Saturday’s game against the Bengals, his first start at quarterback for the Steelers since November of 2021. Even though Kenny Pickett practiced yesterday as a limited participant, Rudolph is expected to start and took the first team reps as practice began for the game on Saturday.
Rudolph says he and the Steelers aren’t feeling pressure, but certainly understand what they’re up against in the AFC playoff chase.
Rudolph says it’s nice to enter a game week with a starter’s mentality.
In addition to Pickett’s return to the practice field yesterday, the Steelers got safety Elijah Riley back to work. He’s been on injured reserve with an ankle injury. Riley and fellow safety Trenton Thompson were limited participants. Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is out this week with a knee injury.
Rookie tackle Broderick Jones and tight end Pat Freiermuth were added to the injury report, Jones with a bad ankle and Freiermuth with a sore knee. Both were limited at practice.
