On Tuesday night, Blairsville Borough Council approved the 2024 budget with no tax increase.
No changes were announced between the budget that was approved for advertisement last month and the budget passed at the meeting. Revenues and expenditures came in at $2,297,771 to balance out. Borough manager Jody Poorbaugh said that it was not difficult, even though there were some changes from the 2023 budget.
In other business, council approved acquiring a tax anticipation note from InFirst Bank to cover expenses until taxes start coming in for 2024.
Council also hired Kevin Piper as a part-time public works employee at a wage of $18 an hour.
