A preliminary hearing is scheduled today for a man charged with robbing the S&T Bank branch office in Homer City last week.
State police filed charges of felony robbery, theft by unlawful taking, attempted theft and receiving stolen property against 28-year-old Dylan Rider of Homer City for the incident December 13th at the bank on North Main Street. He allegedly walked in, handed the teller a note and walked out with an undisclosed amount of cash. His car was spotted by police the next day and he allegedly led officers on a chase from Wilkinsburg back towards Indiana and was apprehended after ditching his car and fleeing on foot.
Since his arrest, he has been in Indiana County Jail as he was unable to pay $250,000 in cash bail. Along with the theft charges, Ryder faces charges of possession of a prohibited offensive weapon, fleeing or eluding police, resisting arrest and a summary vehicle code violation.
His hearing is scheduled for 11:00 this morning.
