TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith both practiced for the Steelers yesterday, but they were limited and both remain in concussion protocol, so they are not yet cleared to play Saturday against the Colts. Safety Damontae Kazee and defensive linemen Cam Heyward and Keeanu Benton were also limited, while linebacker Elandon Roberts, running back Najee Harris, and guard Isaac Seulamo all sat out. All are expected to play Saturday, as is cornerback James Pierre, who was a full participant after missing last week’s game against the Patriots.
Quarterback Kenny Pickett will miss his second straight game following ankle surgery. His replacement is Mitch Trubisky, who said yesterday he expects the full week of practice after last week’s abbreviated schedule should help him play better.
Trubisky ticked off a list of things the Steelers must do to be better this week against the Colts.
Trubisky says the Steelers have to put the past behind them and be completely focused on the Colts.
Center Mason Cole says the Steelers are already in postseason mode.
Cole says the Steelers can make a playoff run…if they can get in.
The Steelers have made an adjustment to their defensive depth chart. Rookie Keeanu Benton is listed as the starter at nose tackle now in place of Montravious Adams and veteran free agent signee Blake Martinez is listed as the “either/or” starter along with Mykal Walker at inside linebacker.
