The power play finally clicked for the Penguins last night, breaking a 13-game, 0-for-36 skid, and the Pens came from behind to beat Arizona. Paul Steigerwald has the recap.
Coach Mike Sullivan was happy to see the long power play drought come to an end.
Sullivan says the Penguins players were happy to see Jeff Carter get two goals, but to him, it’s just as important that Carter is one his most trustworthy defensive players when the team is protecting a lead in the final minutes of a game.
Winger Jake Guentzel was happy to break a four-game losing streak, but he says it was only one win, and the Pens have more work to do.
The Penguins skate in Montreal tonight. It’s a six o’clock airtime on 92.5 FM U92 with faceoff shortly after seven.
