At ceremonies on Wednesday, executives with Platinum Visual Solutions cut the ribbon to open operations in Dixonville.
Platinum Visual comes to the former GreenSteel Chalkboard company, and the company that is coming into the plant will continue that tradition with classroom display products like whiteboards, glass boards and display cases. Board chairman Gary Stell, Jr. said that one of the reasons why they wanted to come back is to open a location to help the company have a foothold in the Eastern seaboard and the Midwest, and to create some jobs for the area.
President and CEO Mark Lawer is originally from Indiana, and said he had memories of being in the former Greensteel building in Dixonville.
Lawer said that they have about five employees hired right now, but they expect to ramp up employment numbers once they start getting busy at the plant in the summertime.
