The River Valley school board held its annual reorganization meeting Wednesday night and welcomed five members who were elected in November.
The board welcomed Connie Constantino, Beverly Caranese, Anthony Canzano, and Mary Whitfield back for another term while Dr. Luke Faust was sworn in as a new member. Faust is a department chair and associate professor for IUP’s Department of Undergraduate Studies, and Superintendent Philip Martell said his background will benefit the school district.
Constantino was elected as the board’s vice president while Rick Harper was re-elected president.
In other business, the board approved a motion for carpeting and re-tiling some offices at the Blairsville building at a cost of $5,650. This will be paid out of the Capital Grants Fund. The board also announced meeting dates for 2024. They will hold committee meetings on the third Wednesday of each month and voting meetings will take place on the fourth Tuesday.
