At last night’s meeting, Homer City Borough Council gave preliminary approval to the borough’s 2024 budget.
The budget contains no tax increase for borough residents and holds property taxes at 4.463 mills. Borough manager Rob Nymick said some adjustments needed to be made before the budget gained final approval.
The budget will be up for final approval on the 22nd at 6 p.m.
In other business, borough council announced two additional murals in town are finished. They are located on the borough building and on the side of Wave Ryder Sweet Shoppe. The board also thanked the Homer-Center art department and Main Street Garage for helping to repair the borough’s nativity scene.
Lastly, borough council thanked outgoing members Betsy Brown, Rick Jones, and Jen Jaworski for their contributions over the years.
