UPDATE:
A woman involved in a drug-related death in Indiana County was sentenced today in Indiana County’s Court of Common Pleas.
40-year-old Heidi Milar of Blairsville was sentenced for guilty pleas to charges of voluntary manslaughter and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. The other charges filed against her were not prosecuted. In October of 2022, police said that she sold the drugs that killed someone via an overdose. She was ordered to serve from 3-6 years in state prison for the voluntary manslaughter charge and 18 months to three years for the possession charge. All the prison time will run concurrently.
Also sentenced today was Lisa Jean Saxfield, who was facing charges in four different cases. She was charged with Driving Under the Influence, simple possession and two counts of possession with the intent to deliver. She was placed on five years of probation with one year of house arrest for DUI and the possession with intent charges and to one year of probation for the simple possession. The sentences will run concurrently.
WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY REPORTED
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for a woman who entered guilty pleas to charges connected with a drug overdose death in October of 2022. Heidi Jo Millar of Indiana pleaded guilty to charges of voluntary manslaughter and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, while a charge of drug delivery resulting in death was not prosecuted. Police said that Millar sold the drugs that resulted in the victim’s death.
Also due for a sentencing hearing today is an Indiana man charged with stabbing another man during an argument in November of 2020. Police said that two people, a 24-year-old man and a 49-year-old man, were involved in a fight when the older man stabbed the younger man in the back with a large knife. Court documents showed charges were filed against Shaun Hubert Robinson. On October 19th of this year, Robinson pleaded guilty to charges of simple assault and possession of an instrument of crime. Four other charges were not prosecuted.
