It’s also been a busy morning for crews as two vehicle crashes were reported.
The first crash was reported at 5:38 this morning on Route 286 East in Cherryhill Township. Clymer fire officials say the driver hit the guardrail and went along it for 40 feet before the car flipped over on its roof. The driver fled the scene before authorities arrived, but State Police were able to find him about two hours later. Clymer fire crews then set up a landing field along Sherman Street in Clymer Borough to life-flight the victim to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment of injuries. State Police were investigating the crash and have not released any details yet.
The second was on Tanoma Road near Skyline Drive in Rayne Township. Marion Center firefighters, state police and Citizens’ were dispatched at 10:08 this morning. Gavin Misko of the Marion Center Fire department said that a car was going too fast for road conditions and did not negotiate a curve in the road cleanly. The car rolled over four times before hitting a tree. The driver and a passenger were injured. One was flown to Forbes Regional Medical Center in Monroeville while the other was taken to IRMC.
