IUP has been selected as a College of Distinction for the 2023-24 academic year.
To receive this honor, universities are required to provide information that demonstrates excellence in undergraduate education. Areas that are focused on include student engagement, teaching excellence, outcomes-based learning and community involvement. Schools that receive this honor are not ranked in this listing, but are rather judged on the ways institutions are providing an enriching undergraduate experience. Colleges of Distinction has been working since 2000 to honor schools with a dedicated focus on the student experience.
In a statement, Colleges of Distinction COO Tyson Schritter said that IUP’s “dedication to experiential learning shows us that students have the opportunity to play an active role in their education.” He added that the listing also “a testament to the way it caters to its own students’ potential and goals, helping them achieve success in unique ways.”
