The fourth-seeded IUP women’s volleyball team makes its second straight NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament appearance tonight when it takes on number five UPJ at Gannon. Four PSAC programs are in the eight-team field for the region.
The action gets underway with #3 Clarion battling #6 West Virginia State at noon, followed by #2 Wheeling and #7 Shaw at 2:30, then #1 Gannon against #8 West Liberty at 5:00. IUP/UPJ is scheduled for 7:30. The semifinals are tomorrow and the finals on Saturday.
IUP senior middle hitter Lauren Valentic was named to the 2023 Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Atlantic Region First Team yesterday. She was also named yesterday to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region First team, with teammate Nyla Birch receiving Honorable Mention recognition.
Clarion’s Cassidy Snyder is the D2CCA and AVCA Atlantic region Player of the Year.
