While shoppers will be out for the big deals at stores throughout the area, today is also the start of the retail Christmas Tree season, and the Indiana County Christmas Tree Growers Association says that supplies will be good.
Gregg Van Horn of the Association and the Indiana County Tourist Bureau said that purchasing a live Christmas tree instead of going with a fake one has become more popular as families want to have the experience of heading to the Christmas Tree Farm and getting the tree themselves.
He added that if someone wants a specific type of tree, they have a better chance of getting it earlier in the season.
He added that retail sales will be good, and in a few years, wholesale sales are expected to pick up.
