While today is not officially a holiday, some institutions are treating Black Friday as one.
Black Friday is the traditional start of the Christmas Shopping Season and many stores are holding sales throughout the day, many of them going on right now. As far as what’s open and closed, some federal offices are open today, but if you have to do business with them, check with them first. Some state offices are closed, including all PA Driver’s License Centers. State liquor stores will be open their normal hours today.
Banks will be open today, as are post offices. There will be regular mail delivery today.
The Indiana County Courthouse and the county courts are closed for today. They will reopen for normal business on Monday.
