While all of Indiana County is under one weather-related advisory, a portion of Indiana County will be under a second.
The National Weather Service has issued a high wind advisory for all of Indiana County along with Westmoreland and Fayette Counties until 6:00 tonight. Winds are expected to come from the Southeast at 20-30 miles an hour with gusts getting up to 50 miles an hour. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, and drivers are being advised to use extra caution.
Meanwhile in the higher elevations of the Southeast corner of the county, along with similar areas of Westmoreland County are under a winter weather advisory until noon today. Hazardous road conditions could affect the morning commute as roads could be wet and slippery. People are advised to slow down and use caution while driving and while walking as well.
