At the work session Tuesday night, Indiana Borough Council gave preliminary approval to the borough’s 2024 budget.
The borough’s revenue is expected to come to $6,163,933, which is a 6% increase from last year. Expenses also increased by 4%, coming to $6,380,421. While it leaves a deficit of $216,488, borough manager Nicole Sipos said there will not be an increase in property taxes. She talked about how the borough was able to toe the line on property taxes.
The budget will be up for final adoption in December.
In other business, it was announced that the borough police’s new K-9 Scout will be sworn in as an officer on December 18th at a ceremony at Ben Franklin Elementary School.
