The Steelers activated tight end Pat Freiermuth from injured reserve on Saturday, hours before the kickoff of Sunday’s game against Cleveland. Freiermuth ahs been on IR since injuring his hamstring on October 1st.
Safety Keanu Neal was placed on IR with a rib injury suffered when he was tackled after grabbing an interception in the closing moments of last Sunday’s win over Green Bay. The team elevated safety Trenton Thompson from the practice squad to replace Neal.
Also activated from the practice squad for today’s game are inside linebackers Tariq Carpenter and Mykal Walker. Meanwhile, the NFL Network reports there is “mutual interest” between the Steelers and inside ‘backer Myles Jack, who spent last season with the Steelers but was cut in the offseason. He signed with the Eagles but abruptly retired in training camp.
