Despite rainfall ranging from a light drizzle to downpour levels, the It’s A Wonderful Life festival kicked off Friday night with the Tree Lighting and Parade in Downtown Indiana.
The number of those who saw the parade and light up night in person was not as big as previous years, but parade organizer Hastee Kinter said she was appreciative of the people who came down.
Prior to the tree lighting, there was a flash mob with “George Bailey” and “Mary Hatch” to pay tribute to the Charleston Dance sequence from “It’s A Wonderful Life” that also involved students from local dance schools.
The celebration continues today with activities at IRMC Park and various businesses throughout Downtown Indiana. And for Saturdays throughout the holiday season, parking in Downtown Indiana will be free.
