For the first of two weekends in a row, hunters in Indiana County will be out. This time, it will be for the short four-day Bear firearm season.
From this morning through November 21st, hunters will head out to hunt for black bears. Only one black bear may be taken during the license year. For WMU’s 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, 4C, 4E and 5A, the season will be extended from November 25th to December 2nd, and for WMU’s 2B, 5B, 5C and 5D, the season goes to December 9th.
For those who bag a bear in Indiana County, the bear check station is located at the Homer City Fire Department on West Church Street.
Next Saturday will be the start of regular firearm deer season.
