Plea and sentencing hearings are scheduled today for Indiana County’s court of common pleas, and many of them deal with people driving under the influence, including the case of a Blairsville man who also is facing charges of child endangerment.
Court documents show that 46-year-old Daniel Lowman of Blairsville faces two counts of child endangerment, DUI and reckless endangerment for an incident on April 9th of this year. Blairsville police say on that day, Lowman was driving East on Route 22 near Blairsville and was taking the Route 217 exit to North Walnut Street when he lost control of his vehicle and rolled it over. He drove away from the scene but was found later on Falling Run Road by Blairsville Fire Department and EMS Personnel. Two children were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. They were treated on-scene. Lowman was taken to IRMC for treatment before being taken to the Indiana County Jail.
He is expected to enter a plea and to be sentenced today.
