A Blairsville man is now in Indiana County Jail facing charges related to sexual contact with a girl from July of 2017 to March of 2020.
Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi announced the arrest of 38-year-old Gregory Jones of Blairsville on charges of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with someone under 16 years of age, statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors, aggravated indecent assault, and indecent assault of someone under 16. At the time of the assaults, Jones was engaged to the victim’s mother. The victim came forward to state police in August of this year to report that she was in a sexual relationship with Jones when she was 13-16 years of age.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Jones would contact her over Facebook Messenger and Snapchat, and the two would share nude photos with each other. It was also discovered that he would wait for the victim’s mother to go to sleep before he would go into the victim’s room to have sexual relations with her.
Jones is now in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for November 29th in front of District Judge Robert Bell, Sr.
