IUP has announced five people that were honored recently with the 2023 Young Alumni Awards.
The five are:
- From the College of Arts and Humanities, Richard Bielawa III from Pittsburgh, a 2015 philosophy graduate who is a deputy attorney general in Pennsylvania’s Office of Attorney General.
- From the college of Education and Communications, Lindsey Ward of Pittsburgh, originally from Penn Run. She is a morning news anchor for KDKA-TV. She was a 2008 communications media major and political science minor graduate.
- From the College of Health and Human Services, Phillip Schnarrs of Austin, Texas. He is a 2007 bachelor’s degree in general studies and a 2009 degree in sociology, and is an associate professor and associate chair for research in the Department of Population Health at the University of Texas at Austin, Dell Medical School.
- From the Eberly College of Business, Corey Crocco of Johnstown, a 2010 hospitality administration and management graduate who is co-owner of Flair of Country Catering and Event Planning.
- From the Kopchick College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Lindsay Matolyak of Pittsburgh, a 2012 chemistry graduate who is a senior research chemist at PPG industries.
IUP Graduates of less than 15 years are eligible for the award. They were honored with the awards ceremony on November 5th and did classroom visits the following day.
