Quarterback Karst Hunter returned from an injury suffered Oct. 7 against California to lead IUP to 565 yards of offense and a 39-27 victory at Clarion on Saturday.
IUP (5-5, 3-4) scored 19 unanswered points in the second and third quarters on its way to erasing a 14-0 Clarion lead, ending a two-game skid, and extending its winning streak against Clarion to 12 games. The Crimson Hawks can avoid their first losing season since 2009 if they win next Saturday in the season finale at Bloomsburg.
Kurst passed for 289 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 95 yards and another touchdown.
Here’s the recap from Jack Benedict.
