On Wednesday night, Clymer Borough Council approved the tentative budget for 2024, and it contains a proposed tax increase.
The budget goes to $608,700, and would include a half-mil tax increase, raising property taxes to 4.558 mils. Borough manager Sonya Schrenkel said that the tax increase is to replace the per capita and occupational taxes, which were eliminated in this year’s budget.
The budget will be put out for public inspection at the borough office and will be up for final approval at the council meeting in December.
