On last night’s episode of Hawk Talk, IUP coach Paul Tortorella talked with Jack Benedict about the Crimson Hawks’ approach heading into the final two weeks of the season.
After Saturday’s loss put IUP at 4-5 on the season and 2-4 in the PSAC, Tort said his team’s mindset going into their penultimate game is to treat every upcoming game like a playoff or championship game.
Tort said he hopes the ending of this season will set a tone for next year like it did at the end of 2021.
When discussing this Saturday’s opponent, Clarion, Tort said their record does not reflect their grit.
Tort also gave an update on quarterback Karst Hunter, who is still dealing with a knee injury. He said while he “needs to play,” it would be doubtful to see him play this Saturday.
You can hear Saturday’s game at 11:30 a.m. on U92.5 FM and U92radio.com.
