IUP has announced that their 3D Design and Digital Fabircation class will open their “Common Goods” popup store, this time in the ticket booth of the Indiana Theater building.
The Common Goods items started as hand-cut paper prototypes which were then translated into digital files for reproduction. Students use a laser cutter in the IUP STEAMSHOP to create the designs. Each package is then put out for sale, with the proceeds benefitting the Future Maker’s Fund, a catalytic funding stream for emerging makers. The classes are taught by Sharon Massey and Sean Derry, who are continuing the tradition of the popup store, with prior locations being in the Indiana Mall.
The store will have a grand opening from 6-9 PM on November 8th, with the store open additional hours on November 9th to the 12th.
