Bargaining teams representing the State System of Higher Education and the faculty’s union met Thursday and Friday for negotiation sessions.
Progress was made as both PASSHE and APSCUF negotiators discussed retrenchment, athletic trainers, tuition benefits, department chairs and distance education. While a new contract was not finalized, teams are scheduled to meet November 9th to the 12th to continue discussions. The next news release will be issued after the four-day negotiation session. In the meantime, state system faculty will continue to work under the terms of a contract that expired on June 30th. Negotiations have been going on for over a year.
Meanwhile, teams for PASSHE and APSCUF will meet again on October 30th to discuss the coaches’ contract. Their contract also expired on June 30th, and their last negotiation session was on October 17th.
