Pitt is picked ninth out of fifteen teams in the preseason ACC poll. Duke got 44 of 51 votes for first among the ACC teams, followed by Miami, North Carolina, Virginia, and Clemson.
Pitt senior forward Blake Hinson was chosen for the ACC Preseason Second Team. Panthers freshman guard Carlton Carrington got one vote for preseason Rookie of the Year.
Duke’s Kyle Filipowski is the ACC Preseason Player of the Year and North Carolina’s Elliott Cadeau is the Rookie of the Year.
