A motions hearing is scheduled today for a Blairsville man charged in connection with a theft that happened in March of this year.
18-year-old Jordyn Edward Kirkland faces charges of robbery, disorderly conduct and two counts of corruption of minors for an incident on March 28th. Blairsville Police Chief Lou Sacco said on that day, police received a report of a strong-arm robbery along South East Lane as a juvenile was assaulted and chased before having his bicycle stolen by three men wearing face coverings. Upon further investigation, the individuals were identified as Kirkland and two unnamed juvenile boys. When police went to serve the warrant for Kirkland’s arrest, they found marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia in plain view at the home. He was arrested later that evening without incident.
Kirkland’s hearing today has to deal with a writ of habeas corpus and a motion to dismiss the charges. He is also due for a criminal call hearing on November 3rd.
