PASSHE, APSCUF WRAP UP FOUR DAY NEGOTIATION SESSION

A four-day negotiation session wrapped up yesterday between the State System of Higher Education and APSCUF, the union representing its teachers.

Negotiators discussed salaries, benefits, grievances, student feedback, athletic directors, graduate courses and retrenchment during the session.  A new agreement was not reached, but negotiators have scheduled another two-day session for October 26^th and 27^th.  They anticipate another update after that session concludes.

Teachers will continue to work under the terms of the contract that expired on June 30^th of this year.  Negotiations on the new teacher’s contract have been going on over a year.

Meanwhile, the two sides will meet on October 30^th to discuss the coaches contract.  Their contract also expired on June 30^th of this year.
