WHAT WE FIRST REPORTED
White Township officials and Peoples’ Gas has announced a service disruption that is affecting customers in the township.
According to the township Facebook page, about 575 homes and businesses in the township were left without gas Tuesday evening. The cause of the outage remains unknown at this time, but Peoples’ reported the outage around 7:30 Tuesday night. The township, the gas company and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency are monitoring the progress of the repairs. The company said that crews would turn off service in the affected area while “working to understand the source of the outage” and affect repairs to restore service.
While a warming center has not been opened, people who need assistance can call Peoples’ customer service line.
