At their meeting Tuesday night, Blairsville Borough Council approved adopting a park naming ordinance.
Council President John Bertolino said the ordinance better defines the process of renaming parks within the borough, including WyoTech Park.
Following the ordinance’s approval, the board voted to advertise renaming WyoTech Park to River Valley Park. The change is expected to be voted on at next month’s meeting.
In other business, the board approved the Vacant Commercial Buildings Ordinance after a modification was made regarding fines violators would face.
Lastly, police Chief Lou Sacco recognized Officer Dave Romagnoli for his rescue efforts after the roof collapsed at the former junior high building in June. You can read Sacco’s Letter of Commendation, as well as view a photo of Romagnoli receiving a Medal of Valor below.
