The new starting quarterback for the Pitt Panthers finally settled the debate about how to pronounce his name yesterday…except it’s not settled with his dad, who pronounces it differently. Here’s Christian Veilleux, in an exchange with reporters yesterday.
The Penn State transfer was named Pitt’s starter last week after Phil Jurkovec was benched. Veilleux says it doesn’t matter who starts at quarterback if all of the Panthers don’t do their jobs on the field.
Veilleux says he loves being a Pitt Panther.
The redshirt sophomore spends about four hours after practice each day studying film with offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti Jr. Veilleux will get his first start Saturday night when Pitt plays number fourteen Louisville at Acrisure Stadium.
