The Penguins were shut out by Ottawa, 3-0, in Halifax, Nova Scotia last night. The Senators scored twice in the first period and added an empty net goal in the third. Tristan Jarry stopped 21 of 23 shots on goal. The Penguins peppered Ottawa goaltender Joonas Korpisalo with 40 shots, but were 0-for-6 on the power play.
Coach Mike Sullivan says the problem was not just the power play.

Sidney Crosby got a long standing ovation in the pregame and was grateful for the support from his hometown fans.
Crosby said the ovation and the entire weekend were special.

The Penguins yesterday claimed forward Jansen Harkins off waivers from Winnipeg. He played in 22 NHL games last season, mostly on the left wing, and had three goals and two assists. He had 25 goals and 25 assists with Manitoba in the AHL.
