The Penguins flew to Nova Scotia this weekend to work out for tonight’s exhibition game against Ottawa in Halifax. It’s a homecoming for the Pens’ Sidney Crosby and Ryan Graves and for the Senators’ young star Drake Batherson.
Saturday’s day off included golf and a tour of the city put together by Crosby.
With hundreds of young fans chanting his name Sunday at the Scotiabank Centre, Crosby recalled playing there when he was a youngster.
Coach Mike Sullivan says it’s a special trip for Crosby.
The Penguins over the weekend hired former Ottawa assistant general manager Trent Mann as a player development and scouting adviser. He left the Senators in July after the team changed owners.
The season begins for the Penguins a week from tomorrow against the Blackhawks at PPG Paints Arena.
