BOYS SOCCER
Indiana downed Armstrong for the second time this season, coming away with a 5-2 victory at Andy Kuzneski Field.
In the Heritage Conference, Conemaugh Township outscored United, 3-1 in the first half and went on to a 7-3 win. The Indians got goals by Jackson Sotosky, Caven Miller, and Dylan Giffin in the first half while United’s Gideon Bracken also scored twice. In the second half, CT’s Max Malicki and Rocco Hagan netted goals and United’s Bracken completed the hat trick with his third goal of the game. United got two assists from Carter Payne and for the second game in a row, and goalkeeper Jackson Wirick had an assist. He stopped 14 shots on goal for the night.
VOLLEYBALL
Indiana topped Franklin Regional, 3-1 in a Section game. Paige Fisanich and Ashlynn Branan each had 12 kills and Stella Stossel had 11. Alex Ball had 22 digs and Hannah Cowburn had 38 assists.
GOLF
River Valley finished second at the District 6 girls Double-A golf final yesterday, nine strokes off the pace and just missing out on a chance to play as a team in the state tournament. The Panthers’ Maren Dunlap was fourth with a 94, and will advance to the individual tournament October 16th and 17th at Penn State. Madigan Dunlap was ninth, and Emilee Staats finished 15th.
