State police are looking for a Punxsutawney man who is a suspect in a shooting that happened last night at an apartment in White Township.
According to a news release, troopers are looking for 27-year-old Storm Michael Armagost of Punxsutawney in connection with the shooting. Police were called out around 10:00 last night to an apartment building at 878 South 3rd Street.
Over the course of the investigation, police believe that Armagost and the victim, an un-named 39-year-old Indiana man, got into an argument, and Armagost allegedly pulled a pistol from his waistband and fired a round at the victim’s head.
The bullet missed, but the victim started to collect his belongings and leave while the suspect continued to point the gun at him. As the victim tried to leave, the suspect allegedly kicked him down the steps. Armogast fled the scene after the incident.
A bullet hole was found in the bathroom/bedroom area of Apartment 24. Neighbors in adjoining apartments were contacted by police and there was no evidence of the bullet going into the other apartments.
Armogast remains at large and a warrant is out for his arrest, charging him with illegal possession of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, reckless endangerment, simple assault, possessing instruments of crime and harassment.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
