A new electrical occupations program will soon come to the Indiana County Technology Center (ICTC) thanks to grant funding that was awarded to the institution.
In a joint announcement on Facebook, Senator Joe Pittman and State Representative Jim Struzzi announced that ICTC was awarded $200,000 from the Manufacturing PA Training-to-Career state grant that will allow Indiana County high school students in grades 10-12 to take part in an electrical occupations program. The program would address the ongoing need for technical and skill jobs in the state while adding more programs to ICTC’s curriculum.
Struzzi, who earned a technical degree in electrical wiring, said the funding is “great news for Indiana County,” and that it is “a great example of how CTCs can be sensitive to the needs in the current work environment and adapt accordingly.”
