At a meeting Tuesday night, the River Valley School Board approved the purchase of weight room equipment and a video board for the middle-high school gym.
The main concern was who would pay for the weight room equipment, as there is a sponsor interested in paying for the equipment. During the meeting, Superintendent Philip Martell said that the equipment needed to be installed quickly. Board President Rick Harper said that there are just a few things needed for the contract to be complete.
The equipment will be put in place by the start of next year. The vote to purchase both items went 6-3.
In other business, the board approved hiring Sharon Kunkle as the department chair for special education, and Erik Foust as the new Junior High head basketball coach.
