The IUP Crimson Hawks went on the road for the first time in the 2023 football season on Saturday and came away with a 30-13 win in its PSAC West opener at Mercyhurst.
Quarterback Karst Hunter passed for one touchdown and rushed for two more, accounting for 222 yards of total offense. IUP built a 16-0 lead into the second quarter, while the IUP defense sealed the win in the second half by allowing just two Mercyhurst first downs. IUP allowed just 61 rushing yards overall.
