Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi says the Panthers lack of intensity in the first half of Saturday’s loss to Cincinnati was puzzling. He says his players told him they were “locked in”, but they had no explanation for their slow start. The coach says getting to the bottom of it is his job.
Narduzzi singled out the run defense and the pass protection as big problems areas to be fixed. Offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti Jr. tallied 25 pass plays on which the blocking broke down.
Pitt plays West Virginia in the Backyard Brawl on Saturday night in Morgantown.
