Indiana topped Franklin Regional in a five-set thriller.
Indiana lost the first set 25-23, won the second and third by scores of 25-14 and 27-25, lost the fourth set 25-20, and narrowly won the fifth game, 15-13.
Paige Fisanich had 11 kills, 5 digs, and an ace. Taylor Wood had 10 kills and 2 blocks and Stella Stossel also had 10 kills, with one block. Alexandra Ball had 2 aces and 20 digs. Hannah Cowburn had 37 assists, a kill and 3 digs. Ashlynn Branan had 6 kills, 3 blocks and an ace. Kayla Leon had 7 kills and 2 blocks. Eliana Long had 2 aces and 7 digs.
Homer-Center took down Conemaugh Valley in four sets, winning the first two games, 25-15 and 25-14. They stumbled in the third game, losing 25-21, but rebounded to take the fourth game, 25-19. Meegan Williams had 14 kills and two blocks. Alaina Fabin and Ashlyn Kerr each had 11 kills and Emma Rouser had 8 kills and 2 blocks. Hannah Arone had 20 assists.
GOLF
Indiana is 8-1, 5-1 in their Section after a 197-211 win Section win over Hempfield yesterday at Greensburg Country Club. Trevor Todd was the medalist at 2-over 37. Ryan Bell shot 38, Caden Force 40, and Philip Bell and Harrison Martineau each shot 41.
SOCCER
In a tight soccer match, George Campbell scored a goal off an indirect kick given inside the penalty box late in the second half to lead Cambria Heights over United, 2-1. The game was tied at one at the half, on a header by the Highlanders’ Ethan Kline and a goal by United’s Bradley Kiesel with a header assist by Gideon Bracken.
