After a league-wide mandatory four-day break, the Steelers return to practice today to prepare for the season opener against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday afternoon at Acrisure Stadium.
The team’s practice squad will undergo many changes through the course of the season, but they appear to have settled on the additional 16 players for the first week, at least, with the additions over the weekend of former Pitt running back Qadree Ollison, fullback Zander Horvath, and inside linebacker Tariq Carpenter.
Ollison was a 1,000-yard rusher twice at Pitt. He’s been with the Falcons, Cowboys, and Jaguars in the NFL since being drafted in the fifth round by Atlanta in 2019.
